The beautiful warm tones of the new Italian Earth colours from Maimeri are created with pigments of historic origin. These antique colours have characterized not only the regional schools of painting throughout Italy but also the facades of palaces and monuments in Italian city centers, as well as entire Umbrian and Tuscan hill towns. For these reasons Maimeri have developed eleven natural earth shades, using formulations and processes that are loyal to the origins of these ancient colours; for instance, the grain size for the dispersed pigments is larger than for more modern oil paints; the paste is denser and the appearance more opaque due to different light refraction. As a result, the applied paint coat is thicker and the tone is more natural. Slight natural variations in the product are a testament to the authentic origins of the colours, none of which contain any additional synthetic additives. Maimeri Italian Earth colours are available in 60ml tubes. They come in boxes of three either as open stock or as part of the 11-colour counter-top display.
