Michael Harding mediums and varnishes are carefully formulated using traditional recipes and are the perfect accompaniment to Michael’s handmade oil colours.

Available in 100 ml bottles and 250 ml cans (larger sizes available by special order).

Balsam Resin Glaze Medium - Historic glaze medium based on light-coloured Canada balsam and fused with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. It provides increased gloss levels and imparts depth to paint films.

Beeswax Paste - Paste with a high oil content that is created from linseed stand oil and bleached beeswax. It increases the body of oil colors, and creates a satin-matte finish. Beeswax Paste is especially useful with opaque colours.

Dammar Glaze Medium - Traditional glaze medium that creates depth and gloss in transparent oil colours. It also speeds the drying process, making it ideal for use with slower-drying paints. Dammar Glaze Medium contains cobalt siccative.

Dammar Varnish - Final picture varnish that creates a subtle gloss finish on oil paintings. Use it with opaque and semi-opaque colours.

Matt Varnish - Final picture varnish that creates a permanent, matte, protective coating on oil paintings.

Oil Paint Medium - Basic paint medium designed to ease flow, as well as to increase the gloss, transparency, depth, and beauty of oil colours.

Oleo-Resin Medium - Historic paint medium, based on Austrian larch turpentine (Venice turpentine) and fused with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. Oleo-Resin Medium can be added to oil colors to enhance depth, gloss, and luster.

Resin-Oil Wax Medium - Soft painting paste derived from bleached pure beeswax and fused with dammar resin and linseed stand oil. It creates a satin sheen and allows for gentle impasto effects when painting in layers. When settling occurs, stand the jar in hot water and stir the medium until it dissolves.

Caution - Follow safety instructions carefully. Not suitable for use by children.
